At the European Biathlon Championships, held at the end of January 2026 in Sjusjøen (Norway), our partner athlete Voldiya GALMACE-PAULIN once again flew the flag for French biathlon on the international circuit. Competing in the IBU Cup this season, she has confirmed her progress and commitment at the highest level, in an increasingly demanding sporting environment.
At the end of these European Championships, marked by a bronze medal in the individual event and a European championship title in the women's relay, Voldiya looks back on her experience, her feelings, and the lessons learned from this major event of the season.
Between sporting performance, managing pressure and looking ahead to future competitions, she shares with us a behind-the-scenes look at her daily life as a top-level athlete.
As Voldiya's partner throughout the season, Prolutech is proud to support her in this sporting and personal adventure. In this interview, we invite you to discover her thoughts on the European Championships, her ambitions for the rest of the season and the message she wants to convey to the new generation of biathletes.
"These European Championships were a very enriching experience for me. From a sporting point of view, I achieved my goal by winning an individual medal, even though the rest of the week was a bit more challenging in the sprint and pursuit events. On a personal level, it was a great week, with many good moments shared with the whole team."
"The highlight I will remember is our European champion title in the women’s relay. It was the final race of the championships and it allowed us to finish on a high note."
"I try to approach major competitions the same way I do all the other races of the season. My goal is not to change anything in my habits, to do neither more nor less than what I usually do, without putting extra pressure on myself just because it’s a championship."
"For the rest of the season, I still have one IBU Cup stage in the United States. My goal will be to finish among the top two French athletes in order to secure a spot for the final World Cup event of the season in Oslo. I would also like to go after another small globe."
"The message I would like to share is to believe in your dreams and, above all, to persevere. Even when there are setbacks, you have to bounce back, because that is what helps build a career."
Throughout this interview, Voldiya GALMACE-PAULIN candidly shares her experience of the European Championships, the demands of the IBU Cup circuit and the mindset that drives her on a daily basis. With her commitment, clarity and ambition, she embodies the values of high-level sport.
At Prolutech, we are proud to accompany Voldiya on her journey and to support an athlete focused on performance and the future. We wish her an excellent rest of the season and will continue to follow her upcoming events closely.
